This weather is driving me nuts! It just teases us one day, and tempts me to wash my car. Then it rains the next day and gets my car dirty. I am trying to enjoy these last few weeks of school--not because I enjoy it, but rather, once school ends I will be working 10-12 hour days in the hot sun.
We just upgraded to Hi-Def and Im loving that! The best part is that I am paying less now for HD and more channels. Thats the beauty of coming to an end of your contract....you have leverage to get what you want. Work it baby!
Spring Break was good. We headed down to Vegas with some friends and just chilled. The weather was good, but on the drive home it was snowing thru Cedar City. We took my IS 300
which happens to be rear-wheel drive. It was a little sketchy, but my serious driving skills got the job done. There were a few 4-wheel drivers that rolled and slid of the the freeway, but I kept on keepin' on and we made it home. Peace!

Wunderkinds
My buddy James and I have been jamming a bit as of late. We both play the Guitar, so we will hang for a few hours and play around. I have been playing guitar for about 12 years, and while I don't suck, I realized how not great I am. Yesterday we were checking out some videos of fellow guitarists on YouTube. There are some pretty incredible talents out there. Check out this 11-year old rocking Jimi's Hey Joe: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8u79h0a7jeQ
There is this incredible guitarist named Andy McKee that does some awesome things on his acoustic: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JsD6uEZsIsU You definitely need to view his other stuff as well, but first take a gander at this 10-year old boy covering Rylynn: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zDzyWAaoBAM
Needless to say, all of these cats make me look like I don't even know what a guitar is. Shameful! Time to practice...

err...New Blog
So we went to Jump On It for my cousins birthday celebratory party Wednesday night. It consists of roughly 30 trampolines linked together. It was cool but I got some serious burnage on my knees and toe knuckles(?). I can hardly bend my right knee! We played five or six games of dodge ball, and that was cool.
Midterms are coming up and I realized the reason they set the last day to drop classes three weeks before: I would probably drop 2-3 classes, and so would everyone else. I some times curl up in a ball and weep gently. I don't know why I forget how much I dont like school when the time to sign up for classes comes around. I think I need a tattoo to remind me.
By the way, my car is for sale. It looks strikingly similar to the picture at the top. I only want $3300 for it. 1997 dodge avenger with 112,200 miles. It runs great and looks smooth. It also runs smooth and looks great.

The West Will Rise Again!
What the fetch is going on in the NBA? Apparently the eastern conference has decided to change careers 'cause they are having a liquidation sale. Since the Korver trade, Pau Gasol, Shaq, Damon Stoudamire and Jason Kidd have all made their ways to the west. The west could start a brand-new team and have a contending team with that starting 5. Is Boston so scary that the rest of the conference has decided to wait 3 or 4 years to bother playing? I am waiting for LeBron to go to Kings (get it?) for 10 first round picks and Vlade Divac just to make salaries work. Hopefully the west can trade for a few playoff spots just so there is a playoff worth watching. Let the C's, Pistons, and Magic in then give the other five spots to west teams. That would allow these currently-out-of-the-playoff teams in: Houston, Portland, Sacramento and two other teams that trade for Chris Bosh, Vince Carter, and D-Wade. Then the Western Conference will secede from the Association to become the WNBA: Western Nat'l B-ball Association. Then we spend 20 years doing an AFL-NFL thing until a merger unites the top two teams in the Super Basket Bowl. It might work.

Heart to Hart
Jason Hart makes me sick. I literally get ill watching him shoot. Before returning to action against the Nuggets, in which he had two assists and zero points, he sat out six games with back spasms. This gave UVSC alumnus Ronnie Price a chance to prove himself. For the season, J-Hart is averaging 3.3 points and 1.8 assists, and he really can't run the pick and roll. The problem with that is if you can't run the offense, then you need to be able to create shots for yourself and others which he can't do either. In the six game that allowed Ronnie to run that backup PG spot, he averaged five and two. Those arent blazing numbers but obviously they are better and while he's not great at it, he can run the pick and roll, and is way better at creating his own shot. With all-star weekend looming, the Jazz may look to move Hart and possibly C.J. Miles. Miles is simply a casualty of circumstance with the Korver trade, but is a free agent after the season potentially leaving the Jazz with nothing in return. He has played well enough in his limited minutes (and leads the jazz in 3pt %) to have value. I don't know who we could get but we always need interior defense at the 5-spot.

Nothin' new
Another week in the life of a blogger. So the Patriots didn't win, and made me look dumb but that's all right. I just hope I didn't lose any of my blogfans. To make matters worse, we lost our first basketball game by three points and are now 4-1. I thought it was our best game defensively but we just couldn't hit a shot. Terrible.
For those of you who don't know, we own a duplex. We live in the top and rent out the bottom. Our first renters were slimedogs and didn't pay rent. It took us 2 months to get rid of them and when they left the whole place was trashed. I will try and post pictures of the damage. Anyways, the people we have down there now are awesome but really wanted new carpet because, despite cleaning it twice, the old carpet smells and is gross. Well, lucky us, we found a killer deal at Lowe's and pounced like a hungry cheetah. This pleased the renters greatly and we hope they stay forever.

Superbowl Sunday
Like that annoying friend that just doesn't get it I'm back! Superbowl Sunday is just around the corner and I am somewhat confused by my feelings. For the sake of witnessing history, I really want the Patriots to win. I wish it were some other team, though. I become borderline ill rooting for Bill Belichek (is that spelled right?) and typically root for the underdog/sentimental fave when my Broncos aren't in it, but this is an event that I never thought possible. Perhaps what I look forward to the most is seeing what that idiot Mercury Morris from the undefeated '72 Dolphins will say after running his mouth all season long. Now time for my expert prognosis: Eli Manning gets picked off twice by Harrison, and Brady lights up the G-Men's defense by running for a TD and throwing for three more. Pats win 30-17. How ya like them apples?
Well on to something closer to home: How about the Jazz, baby?!? Owners of a nine-game win streak, and jumping from the nine spot to the division-leading 4 spot after locking down that stinky Frenchman and the Spurs. Not enough can be said of AK's incredible offense the last few games, and we robbed the Sixers blind with the Korver trade! He hasn't been incredible from beyond the arc, but he hits them when they count, and I love the fact that he can run the "Harpring Curl". As for the sub-par play of the backup point guards, I just hope Ronnie takes advantage of Jason Hart being hurt and stakes claim to those minutes. Anything to spare me from seeing that terrible jump shot. I see the Jazz holding on the top spot in the division. Portland doesn't really scare me (for now) and the Jazz will outplay the Nuggets over the rest of the season. Boo-Ya!
